Character Role Analysis

Nailer

Um, was there any question? Nailer isn't the narrator, but he might as well be. It's really his story from rags to, well, slightly less raggy. As the protagonist, he's the one we root for as he flees his murderous father and Nita's enemies, we cheer him on as he makes difficult decisions, and we bite our nails when it's possible that he won't make it. He grows from boy to not quite man, and when we leave him at the end of the novel, his future is uncertain, but it's definitely brighter, and we're definitely glad.
