Dude sides with Ganelon on not trying to capture Saragossa.
He notes that Roland is enraged about leading the rearguard but thinks he would make a great leader anyway.
Then he listens to Charlemagne recount his dreams. Bo-ring.
He agrees that the third oliphant blow must mean Roland is in trouble.
He sees the dust from Marsile's departing army and urges Charlemagne to ride after and get revenge.
Finally, he fights with Charlemagne against the emir's armies.
