Arthur Morel Timeline and Summary

Arthur is the youngest Morel child.
From a very young age, he is temperamental and demands to get his own way.
The one standout thing about his childhood is the fact that he loves his father Walter very much, unlike the three other Morel children.
As time goes on, Arthur starts to get fed up with his place in the Morel household.
One day, he goes off and joins the army on a whim, which is a really dumb thing to do.
The law says he can't get out of his contract with the army. So that's that.
From this point on, Arthur doesn't show up a lot in the story.
Eventually, his mother does manage to bail him out of the army, and he gets married to a much younger woman.
He goes off to have a family of his own.
We don't hear much more about him after that, except that he shows up again when his mother gets ill.
Weddings and funerals always bring people together, you know.
