David's Therapist

When teenage David finally goes to therapy, he hears two big truths for the first time: His mom doesn't love him, and he's a talented artist. In other words, the therapist identifies his issue and how he can escape it. Yay. David depicts his therapist as the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, and the comparison is apt: The White Rabbit is the character that leads Alice down the rabbit hole and into Wonderland. The rabbit introduces Alice to a new world that changes her forever, and the therapist does the same for David.
