Character Analysis
Archer meets Dr. Carver at Madame Olenska's home. Dr. Carver is a spiritualist—a person who claims to be able to speak to the dead— and the leader a group of followers who believe in his teachings. This group has the hilarious name of the Valley of Love Community. The flighty Marchioness Manson thinks Dr. Carver and his spiritualism are peachy keen, but Madame Olenska views him as a quack who is out to make a quick buck by telling everyone the Marchioness Manson is one of his followers.
