Valentin de Bellegarde Timeline and Summary

Valentin greets Newman while he's visiting Claire at the de Bellegarde house.
The two strike up a bond and make plans to hang out later.
While Newman and Valentin are hanging out, Valentin gives him the scoop on Claire.
Valentin also lets Newman know that he's his only ally in the de Bellegarde family.
When Newman goes to intervene with Noémie, a bored Valentin tags along.
Valentin thinks Noémie is pretty cute, to the horror of Newman.
Valentin and Noémie hang out and get close.
But Valentin spots Noémie at the opera, getting close to another guy.
Valentin challenges that guy, the magnificently-named Stanislas Kapp, to a duel.
Kapp mortally wounds Valentin during the duel, which takes place in Switzerland.
On his deathbed, Valentin confides to Newman that there's a de Bellegarde family secret he can use to his advantage.
