• At Rothborne, Torey tries hard to get rid of Leo, an annoying kid that asks too many questions.
• After Leo jets, Torey opens a document he wrote about the disappearance of Chris Creed.
• Now we go back to a year earlier, where at church one Sunday, the Creed parents give a speech about needing information about why Chris would have run away.
• At Torey's later on, his friends Alex, Ryan, and the Kyle twins talk about where Creed's body might be and Torey feels fed up with all of them. Alex steals the suicide note and Torey reads his name in it.
• At school, Ali tells Torey all she knows about Chris and they make a plan to spy on the Creeds later.
• In the cafeteria, Torey hangs with his girlfriend Leandra and his friends, and they gossip about the note and how Chris might have been murdered and blame the boons.
• Torey is totally over it all.
• At home, he tries to write a song but it's lame; he gets freaked out by a creepy ghost feeling.
• Leandra calls him to complain about Ali and gossip—add Leandra's mouth to the list of things Torey is so over.
• At Ali's house, Torey sees her mom all out of it and hears her mom having sex with her boyfriend. Then the boon, Bo Richardson, shows up (he's Ali's new boyfriend) and schools Ali's mom.
• Bo is super nice to Ali's little brother, Greg, and Torey now feels like he can trust Bo.
• They spy on Mrs. Creed, who goes through Chris's room methodically searching for his diary or something.
• Bo decides to steal the diary to prove that he is innocent from Mrs. Creed's gossip about Bo murdering Chris.
• Torey helps by calling the Creeds and telling them to meet him at the ball field to get info about Chris. Then Torey runs home.
• Spotted by a neighbor hanging out in front of the Creeds' house, Torey winds up in the police station. Bo gets taken in, too, for allegedly placing the phone call, though he was not caught breaking and entering. Mrs. Adams takes Ali home with her and Torey and picks up Greg, too, on Bo's request.
• At the house, Mrs. Adams tells them about Digger Haines and says she'll try to help Bo. She gives them Chris's diary but doesn't realize it.
• They read in the diary that night that Creed has a girlfriend.
• The next day at school, Torey's friends are totally freaking out about him being seen with Bo and Ali. Torey doesn't care, though, and is so tired of them and their gossip.
• He wants to go home but runs into Ali and Bo, who got picked up by Mrs. Adams at the station.
• Torey is feels terrible and gets picked up from school early by his dad, who tells him that Bo confessed to making the call.
• At home alone, Torey wigs out over letting Bo take the fall. He and Leandra argue.
• Leandra calls and explodes over Ali being at Torey's house, and Torey has to calm Ali down because she feels so badly after being called a slut. They get money from Mrs. Adams and go to the Wawa, where Bo is.
• They meet and talk about who should take the fall for calling Mrs. Creed, when Alex and Renee pop in and accuse Ali of being a super slut who stole Leandra's man. Simmer down, guys.
• Renee and Ali fight and Bo steps in, telling Renee her dad has been having an affair with Ali's mom all along and joking that he and Torey killed Creed.
• At school the next day, things are bad. Torey and Ali sit with the boons, which is weird to everyone else, and then Bo gets arrested.
• In the principal's office, he tries to explain to Mrs. Creed how strange Chris was but she isn't having it.
• Later that day, they go off to Margate to meet Chris's girlfriend and talk to the psychic.
• They discover that Isabella wasn't really Chris's girlfriend, and the psychic tells Torey that he will find Creed's body in the woods alone.
• Torey is super freaked out, so Ali goes to the woods with him to try to find Chris's body.
• At a pile of huge rocks, Torey only finds Chris's old treasure map.
• Later he meets up with Alex who tells him that Renee told her dad officially that Bo and Torey confessed to murder.
• Torey is so angry and shocked that he pushes Alex and tells off Renee, then runs off into the woods.
• Seeing an Indian ghost, he follows it to the big rocks, realizes that Creed is alive somewhere, then falls and a rock crushes his leg.
• Inside the rock cave are dead bodies all wrapped up. One is unwrapped, though, and Torey is certain it belongs to Chris. He thinks the body is burning.
• Torey screams until he's rescued by Ali.
• In a hospital, Torey won't eat and won't talk to anyone for many days. He is suffering from PTSD and goes off to a mental health place until he can accept the fact that body he found was neither burning nor belonged to Chris. He never goes back to school and doesn't hang out with anyone.
• At Rothborne, Torey plays a prank on Leo with some other guys but the prank doesn't work.
• He apologizes to Leo for treating him poorly earlier and reflects on his website and the responses to his document, one of which is totally from Chris, who is alive and well.
