Brian Johnson (Anthony Michael Hall)’s Timeline and Summary

The movie opens with Brian's voiceover as he reads the essay he wrote on behalf of The Breakfast Club explaining "who you think you are."
Brian arrives at school in a car driven by his mother, who testily urges him to use the time to study.
Brian remains quiet at first, but eventually Bender takes some insulting jabs at him.
At one point, Brian reveals he's a virgin, and Claire tells him it's all right.
After Bender hides his drugs in Brian's underwear, Brian ends up smoking pot with him.
When they're seated on the floor in a group, Brian tells the story about why he was sentenced to detention: Thanks to a malfunctioning elephant lamp, he flunked shop class. Distraught over his now-lowered GPA, he brought a flare gun into school, planning to shoot himself—but it went off in his locker.
Claire convinces Brian to write their essays for them (or one essay on behalf of them). In the final moments of the movie, he reads his conclusion that each one of them is a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess, and a criminal in their own ways.
