Brain Snacks: Tasty Tidbits of Knowledge
When Robert Graves was young, he didn't get along very well with the other boys in his school. So he decided to spend his time becoming the school's middle weight and welterweight boxing champion. (Source.)
At one point in his life, Graves went to be a professor at the University of Cairo in Egypt. He was accompanied by his wife, children, and a woman named Laura Riding. And in case you think that's strange, Graves would leave his wife and marry Riding shortly after. Kind of makes sense now, doesn't it? (Source.)
It looks like Graves eventually got a taste of his own medicine. After he left his wife for the poet Laura Riding, Riding would herself go on to leave Graves for a writer named Schuyler Jackson. (Source.)
