In the early 1950s, Heinlein moved into a home in Colorado Springs and was given the chance to have a little input in its design. Ultimately the house contained cold-cathode tubes in box molding to illuminate the entire ceiling, aluminum paint on the roof to reflect solar heat, and a dining table on wheels to roll from the dining room to the kitchen sink. Oh, and here's another fun fact: Heinlein got to pick the number for the house and he chose 1776. Geez, we wonder why…? (Source)

The Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master Award is a lifetime honor given to sci-fi writers whose contributions to the field are almost incalculable. Ursula K. Le Guin, Samuel Delany, Roger Zelazny, Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, and Arthur C. Clarke are just a few of the amazing writers among the award's thirty recipients.
