Toby and the Overseer

One's a seer, and the other is the Overseer. While the Overseer's job-title-turned-name refers to his task of overseeing the enslaved people, thanks to Toby, we can recognize this jerk's name as a subtle shout-out to what he overlooks, or fails to see. As a seer, Toby can see it all—he remembers the past, he envisions a brighter future, and he recognizes the magic hidden inside some of the people. The Overseer is his total opposite, though, unable to recognize even the basic humanity in the people he terrorizes—and, of course, failing to see their ability to fly.
