Character Analysis
Another outsider in this land, the dentist Mr. Tench is forgetful and trapped. He'd leave if he could, but he doesn't have the money. His family is a memory from the distant past. He's not religious, but still feels deserted when the Church—in the figure of the priest—is no more.
