Thomas Fowler Timeline and Summary

Fowler first meets Pyle at the outdoor bar at the Continental Hotel. The American shares his interest in York Harding.
He's present when Pyle and Phuong first meet.
While up north to see the war up close, Fowler is surprised when Pyle shows up to inform him of his plans to woo Phuong.
Both men find themselves trapped and under fire in a watch tower after Fowler's car breaks down. Pyle saves his life.
On the advice of his partner, Fowler visits men named Mr. Chou and Mr. Heng. They suggest that Pyle may be working to arm a Third Force.
Fowler loses Phuong to Pyle.
After witnessing a bombing in which Pyle had a role, Fowler visits Mr. Heng again. They work out a plot to deal with Pyle.
After Pyle's death, Fowler is questioned by Vigot, a French police officer who suspects but cannot prove his involvement.
