Ropemaker is a pretty easy read—Peter Dickinson keeps the prose short and sweet—but the plot is pretty knotty (you know, like a rope… or its maker). It's hard to keep track of who does what when it comes to magic, and how the Ropemaker fits into Tilja's journey, but eventually things get slightly easier for the reader when Tilja kicks her adventures into high gear with Faheel. So hang in there, Shmoopsters.
