Maximus Timeline and Summary

Almachius orders Maximus to execute Valerian and Tiburtius.
Filled with pity and struck by their teaching, Maximus takes the brothers to his house so he can listen to their teaching.
After this night, Maximus and his household receive Christian baptism.
Soon after Valerian and Tiburtius are executed, Maximus tells everyone that he saw their souls glide to heaven. For this, he, too, is executed.
