The Disappearance of Jill
- Jill has to stand on Puddleglum's shoulders to get her head up through the hole in the earth, but the moment she does, she's snatched up and pulled away from her friends.
- Puddleglum, Eustace, and Rilian are horrified and fear Jill's been captured by enemies; they are desperate to get up to help her.
- But Jill is not in danger. In fact, she poked her head through a hillside in Narnia and found herself in the middle of a Snow Dance. The low light she saw was from the moon.
- Jill calls out and the creatures of Narnia rush to her rescue.
- Meanwhile, Eustace climbs up on Puddleglum and pokes through, sword first. He expects to find enemies on the other side of the earth and is ready to fight.
- The Narnian creatures run to wake the moles, who are the best diggers, and they bring in dwarves, who are great at mining and digging. In no time, they've cleared the hillside.
- To their astonishment, the lost Prince Rilian emerges from the hillside. They bow to him and then rush to prepare supper and lodgings for the night for the adventurers.
- Prince Rilian tells the wise Narnian creatures about his adventures in Underland, and the oldest dwarf among them concludes that Northern Witches are all after the same thing: Narnia.
