• The story opens with Jill crying behind the gym at Experiment House. Scrubb encounters her and tells her about Narnia.
• The two friends escape onto Aslan's mountain, where Jill causes Eustace to fall from the cliff.
• Jill faces Aslan for the first time and receives their mission. She memorizes the four signs.
• Aslan blows Jill into Narnia and she immediately misses the first sign when Caspian leaves before he is recognized.
• Glimfeather takes Jill and Eustace to their rooms. Later, Jill arrives at the parliament of owls and listens to the story of Rilian and his mother.
• Jill awakens in Puddleglum's wigwam and they plan their journey north.
• Jill and friends encounter the giants of Ettinsmoor and ultimately meet up with the Lady of the Green Kirtle and the Black Knight; Jill blurts out the purpose of their mission.

• Jill watches Puddleglum and Eustace kill the serpent and tries not to faint.
• Rilian wants to visit Bism before going home, but Jill is horrified by the idea and urges him on the right course.
• She climbs on Puddleglum's shoulders and pokes her head out into Narnia. The creatures see her and tug her out.
• Jill stands at Cair Paravel with Eustace and witnesses the king's death. They are immediately transported to Aslan's mountain, where they grieve over Caspian's body.
• Jill takes a switch from a bush and it transforms into a riding crop; she beats the bullies at Experiment House with it upon return.
• She retains her Narnian clothes and uses them for a dress-up party.
• Jill and Eustace remain friends forever.
