Horror
We define horror as "fiction which events evoke a feeling of dread in both the characters and the reader." That's The Walking Dead. Or should we say, The Walking Dread? This book is filled with gruesome images from the first page when Rick is shot in the line of the duty to the last, where Carl is distraught about killing Shane. And those pages don't even have zombies in them! Once the zombies show up, there's no escaping them. Even when they're not on the page, you know they're out there. As you read The Walking Dead, you can practically hear the moaning through the pages.
