Eugenio Timeline and Summary

When Susan Stringham takes Milly to Italy, she calls on Eugenio because he is the greatest servant in all of Europe—or at least that's what James' narrator makes it sound like.
When Merton Densher comes around to visit Milly, Eugenio tells him that the lady isn't receiving guests. Eugenio suspects that Merton is just after Milly's money, and he has become very protective of the young lady in her final months.
The last we hear of Eugenio is that he has stayed in Italy (along with Susan) to nurse Milly through the final days of her life.
We know very little about Eugenio's inner thoughts, but his actions suggest that he is pretty much the most loyal and competent servant a person could ever hope for.
