Homer Timeline and Summary

When asked to go camping, he jumps in.
During the trip, Homer asks Ellie what she thinks of Fi—he has a thing for her.
Unlike the Homer we've heard about, after the gang returns to civilization Homer steps up to the plate in the face of disaster.
Homer formulates plans and helps organize the group. Dude is a good leader.
During the rescue mission, he drives a car, even though he isn't very good at it.
Back in Hell, he falls in love with Fi and does a bunch of work around camp.
During a meeting he calls to discuss next steps, Homer puts out a vote to see if the groups wants to hide out or fight.
Since they decide to fight, he leads a small group into town and devises a plan to blow up the bridge.
The part Homer plays in implementing Operation Bridge Be Gone is to stir up and then scare the cattle to charge the bridge. He does it well.
As the book ends, he's back in Hell with the gang.
