Danny Timeline and Summary

Danny is sent to Texas to break mules during World War I.
When he comes home from the army, Danny finds that his grandfather has left him two houses as his inheritance.
Danny moves into one house and lets his friend, Pilon, rent the other.
When Pilon and his roommates, Jesus Maria and Pablo, burn down the house, they come to live in Danny's place.
Danny and his friends invite the Pirate to come live with them in hopes that they'll find his stash of quarters and steal it from him; when they find out he's saving up for Saint Francis, they become protectors of the stash.
Danny takes a liking to Sweets Ramirez and buys her a vacuum cleaner with no motor... but it doesn't matter because she has no electricity. When his friends steal the vacuum cleaner to keep her from stealing their friend, Danny is glad and decides he's sick of Sweets anyway.
Danny and his friends live a happy life, helping out their friends, robbing the rich to give to the poor, and gossiping in Danny's house.
After a while, Danny gets tired of the routine of Tortilla Flat and goes crazy, running off into the woods. He sells his house for $25, but his friends burn the bill of sale.
The friends throw a party for Danny to cheer him up. At the party, he gets drunk and violent and finally runs off a cliff to his death.
