Turtle Curry

This one's pretty simple. Her name's in the title, she narrates the book, and she's the only character who we're with from start to finish. As if that weren't enough, Turtle also grows up a lot and changes throughout the story to become more mature and well-rounded. She learns to make the best of things even when they're tough, and changes her initial feelings about crummy old Key West. Without a doubt, Turtle is our protagonist. She might be a little cynical at times, but she's the best we've got.
