Character Role Analysis
Joy
Joy is most definitely the real love interest of the novel. While other women, such as Susie, Linda, and Valerie, have various romantic or amorous relationships with Dan throughout the book, it's Joy who really counts, because she's the only female peaceful warrior in the story. It's pretty clear that Dan can be romantically satisfied only with another peaceful warrior. Maybe peaceful warriors need their own dating aps to find one another: Pinder (Peaceful Tinder)? Winder (Warrior Tinder)? PWinder?
