The Place Where Things Go Away
- Seems like Alma rushed into marriage for nothing—she ends up having a miscarriage, and now is regretting having married Cabot; Cabot, on the other hand, doesn't regret a single thing.
- Eventually, Alma moves back in with her grandma. Cabot loses his job and spends his time lying in bed, calling Alma constantly, and writing her long letters; he also continues his Biblical studies.
- He's getting more and more fanatical about the Book of Enoch, and Alma is kind of afraid of him. After all, he seems to be going insane.
