Protagonist: Cullen Witter

Even though he may not be the strongest, smartest, or even more interesting teenager in the world (or even in the small town of Lily, Arkansas), Cullen Witter is the protagonist of Where Things Come Back because he's the one person who won't give up hope when it comes to finding his brother Gabriel.

When his family members, friends, and neighbors start to resign themselves to the fact that Gabriel is probably dead, Cullen refuses to stop looking. He knows that his brother must be out there somewhere, and he's going to make sure that everyone remembers to keep looking—even if it means keeping himself miserable and obsessed.
