• At the supermarket, Wilder climbs out of a shopping cart without anyone noticing. The adults search for him, and eventually find him sitting in another woman's cart.
• One day, Wilder starts crying for no apparent reason. His parents take him to a couple of doctors, but get sent away. Then for no reason, he suddenly stops. No one knows what happened. They're just glad he's stopped.
• Wilder pedals his tricycle down his street and across a highway. He nearly dies, but doesn't actually cry until he gets past the highway and falls off his bike onto some grass.
