Shaka Senghor Timeline & Summary

Shaka's parents decide to separate and have an on and off relationship for a while.
Shaka moves out of his mom's house.
He takes a job selling drugs.
Then, he's shot in a dispute.
Meanwhile, he and his girlfriend Brenda find out they are expecting a child.
Shaka fatally shoots someone when a drug deal goes sour.
He's sentenced to prison.
Shaka gets a story published in a prison newsletter and an editor tells him he could have a future in writing.
Eventually, he reaches the moment when he forgives himself and others and starts really changing.
He receives a life-changing letter from his son Jay.
Then, he meets Ebony.
Shaka is then released from prison.
He receives a BMe (Black Male Engagement) award from the Knight Foundation and meets folks from The MIT Media Lab and IDEO and they start a collaboration to help Detroit.
