SUNY Geneseo
About Me
Intro
I'm a Knight in shining armor here to rescue you from the biggest quest of your high school life: the college decision process. Now...maybe I haven't slain any dragons for you yet, but I'm no Monty Python poser.
If I were to pick a song to describe me, I'd go with Miley's "The Best of Both Worlds." I'm not the biggest school and most of my classes are small and intimate, but I've got a ton to choose from. Biology, mathematics, and teaching are some of my favorite subjects, but you'll have about a gazillion others to take a look at as well.
I'm not all academia either. My students "work hard, play hard," hopping from chem lab to club meeting to coffee shop all before lunchtime. I've got club sports, anime club, yoga club, and even a club just for walking around in nature.
Plus, I can save you a ton of money. Who doesn't want to bathe in cash after college? If you don't hold yourself to being the bigger person, you can even watch others suffer through years of debt and laugh. Good-heartedly of course...
Name
Victor E. Knight
Hometown
Geneseo, New York
Birthdate
1871
Body Type
I truly embody the best of both worlds in everything, size being no exception. Even Goldilocks would admit that I'm not too big, not too small, but just right. I'm 220 acres of rolling hills and valleys, all for your exploration; along with the other 5,550 students currently enrolled here.
You'll have plenty of new things to find even in your fourth year here, but I'm not so big that winters end up feeling like a trek through the Alps.
Current Living Situation
Some other universities will brag about how their dorms have Willy Wonka glass elevators, paintings by Picasso himself, and, I don't know, built-in robots to clean your room? When choosing your home for the next four years, just remember it's not all about luxury.
I'm going to spare you the speech about my amazing facilities (even though they are pretty awesome) and just say that I provide such a great dorming experience because of the students who live in them.
Since you'll be coming to us as a freshman or a transfer, you may find yourself living on the famous South Side. Whether you live in corridor- or suite-style arrangements, a friendly face, study buddy, or someone to grab food with is always a few doors away.
Sophomore students normally opt to room with their new friends, and juniors and seniors can be spotted living off campus (if they desire).
The quaint town of Geneseo is an incredible place to live, plus all of the housing options (on- and off-campus) are a short walk away from the central campus.
Relationship Status
The SUNY system is like one big, highly dysfunctional, yet loving family. You guys probably have siblings, right? Even if you don't, I'm sure you know that these sorts of relationships consist of hair-pulling, "I'M TELLING MOM!", and the almost-constant backseat bickering in the car.
Cortland, our jock younger brother, has always been our rival when it comes to sports. As for sister Oneonta claiming they're the queen of night life, we Knights know how to (responsibly) let loose as well. Some will tell you I'm always in the shadow of our intelligent older brother, Binghamton, but check the stats...they don't lie.
In terms of my love life, I am currently single and love long walks in the snow, so swipe right for me. Or hit me up on the Common Application, either one works...
You should apply to me if...
your high school grades and ridiculous amount of extra-curricular activities scream esteemed private school but your wallet and Ralph Lauren-lacking closet say otherwise.
