apr 19 Learn More Lord Byron Dies
On this day in 1824, Lord Byron died in Greece. In addition to being one of the most famous poets of the Romantic era, Byron was a notorious womanizer, reportedly bedding more than 250 women in one year alone. The only thing he loved more than the ladies, however, was animals. At one time, his house was home to eight dogs, five cats, three monkeys, and an assortment of falcons, eagles, crows, and peacocks. A wild man, indeed.
