nov 28 Learn More Enrico Fermi Dies
Italian physicist Enrico Fermi died on this day in 1954. He's best known for his work on the world's first nuclear reactor, and has had dozens of things named in his honor: everything from the Fermilab particle accelerator in Batavia, Illinois, to the fermi, a unit of measurement in particle physics. Once he gets a Ben & Jerry's flavor named after him, we'll know he's really made it.
