Writer William Faulkner was born on this day in 1897. The author of The Sound and the Fury won two Pulitzer Prizes for Fiction and the Nobel Prize in Literature. He was also a pretty horrendous speller. According to his editor at Random House, Faulkner's manuscripts were littered with mechanical errors. The lesson here? Even the best writers struggle with grammar. But unless you win two Pulitzers and the Nobel Prize, you're going to have to learn how to correct things on your own.
