sep 30 Learn More Little Women Published
Louisa May Alcott's Little Women was published on this day in 1868. Well, the first part of it was, at least. The book, which Alcott churned out in mere months, was originally published in two parts: part one, called Little Women: Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. The Story Of Their Lives. A Girl's Book; and part two, mercifully just called Good Wives. The characters Beth, Amy, and Meg were all based on Alcott's real sisters. What about Jo? She was based on Alcott herself.
