About Me

Intro

Hi there, I'm University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, but call me Ann. There's no time for the rest. I've got problems to solve, games to win, and people to meet. I shine on the field and in the classroom, and I have a beautiful and harmonious mix of athletics and academics, if I do say so myself.

Somehow, I even manage to find time to be social, as well. I'm just as likely to be studying as tailgating while proudly singing "Hail to the Victors" at least hundred times at the Big House (my football stadium) with 100,000 of my closest friends. Just the besties, of course.

I may also participate in one (or five) of the 1,200 student organizations on campus, and still have time to complete the masses of homework I'm constantly being assigned. I'm ready to accept any challenge and come out of it hungry for more…and for stacked burgers.

Body Type

With 3,245 acres containing 43,000 students spread over two campuses (North and Central), I would call myself big and beautiful. Don't worry, though—there are plenty of buses to take you to whatever campus you need to be on.

I'm also super bike-friendly. I even started a bike share program so you can grab some wheels when you need 'em and then drop 'em off wherever you see another bike share stand. How convenient is that?

Current Living Situation

Most freshmen live on campus in one of the eighteen residence halls, which vary in quality from prison-like to practically a fortress, depending on how lucky you are.

Of course, you're already lucky to be here with me, right? Right?

After freshman year, you have the scary/exhilarating option of being released out into the world…or at least into the nearby Ann Arbor area. About half of all sophomores move off campus. There are hundreds of houses in the surrounding area, and all are near public transit that will take you to either campus pretty easily.

If venturing out on your own isn't quite your thing, there are tons of fraternities/sororities to join, as well. They not only come with the benefit of being closer to campus, but I think they might often throw dinner parties or shindigs of the sort, too.

Maybe you'd rather the party not be held in your house. If so, check out my co-ops, which have all the fun of communal living but with a slightly lower emphasis on kegstands and beer pong.

Relationship Status

It's complicated. I have quite the history with Ohio State University. It is kind of a big deal, I guess. There are even documentaries about it.

Let's just say I know how Bennifer felt. Nothing's worse than having your rocky relationship broadcasted for the world to see…

I'm proud to be in the Big Ten conference, which includes Midwestern schools like Purdue, Penn State, Northwestern, and Wisconsin. Michigan State University, the other Big Ten School in Michigan, thinks I'm their number one rival, but he's more like a little brother. I love calling him that, simply because it bugs him; it stokes the flames of his fiery hatred towards me even more. Bwahaha.

Religion

There's no official affiliation with any religion on campus, but I'm home to many student organizations that span across the entire religious spectrum.

Politics

Many say that I'm a paradise for tree-hugging, left-leaning liberals, but because I'm so large, there are parts of me from all kinds of political beliefs and ideologies. I typically make up more of a liberal environment, but if you're a right-winger, you can find a snug little home in the College Republican Club, just like at any other school.

You should apply to me if...

you want to be President of Everything while also saving the whales, curing cancer, 4.0-ing your undergrad, and partying three nights a week.
