20-Year Prospect

20-Year Prospect

Without some global conspiracy of new parents refusing to tell their kids about Santa Clause, chances are that two decades from now Christmas is still on, and you're still making the toys that form the holiday's backbone.

Still, with the whole global warming thing on the rise, the polar ice caps are melting. That might mean increased real estate prices on the land that remains, forcing an increase in Santa's operating costs, which may very well affect hiring quotas.

Fewer elves on the line means harsher hiring requirements, and even less tolerance for production mistakes (as if the tolerance for that sort of thing wasn't low enough already.)

Better start hoping that the kids you're making toy trucks for today don't wind up wanting to drive the real thing when they get older. It might even be time to ask Santa about making tiny wooden hybrids instead...
