Glory
Win an Olympic gold medal and you'll be able to skate for free at any rink for life. That, and you'll be able to walk into any place and have people point at you and ask for an autograph or a selfie because you're a living, breathing Olympic gold medal winner. You'll always get a good table at the local sports bar. You'll be the public face of figure skating.
You're the Queen (or King). Top of the heap. Numero uno. You can live anywhere, and you'll still be an Olympic gold medal winner. Years and years can go by and still your progeny will brag about being the great-great-great grandchild of an Olympic gold-medal-winning figure skater. And, at very worst, if your investments go sour and your luck runs out, you can sell that medal on eBay.
If you don't make it to the top of the skating world, though...well, you won't get that kind of glory. But you will get to do what you love every day. If figure skating is really your passion, that just might be all the glory you need.
