Each year, there are so many people with high-level genetics degrees that the government forces them to pair off and fight to the death in order to choose who's allowed to enter the field and who's better off in a grave.

Like most sciences, the need for experts goes up, up, up, and the number of people interested in becoming them stays more or less the same, same, same. Get your degrees and certifications, put in the training time, and you'll be just fine bagging a job.
