20-Year Prospect

20-Year Prospect

There was an old trick to remember how to spell "principal" when talking about the president of the school, as opposed to those things you believe in. The "principal" is your "pal," and thus you remembered never to refer to them as your "principle."

They never said this about the vice principal. Since they're usually in charge of discipline, they tend to not be your pal.

It's not necessarily the worst career destination, especially if you have a knack for education. Something to keep in mind is that these jobs are growing more slowly than others (source). Why would we even recommend something like that? What's wrong with us?

We haven't eaten. Sorry.

Those figures are slightly misleading, since they take all of the country into account. The thing is, not every place grows at the same rate. Weird, right? So while jobs are stagnant in the densely-populated East and the frigid North, there's actually some potential for growth in the expanding South and West (source).

Vice principal isn't a destination career either. Generally speaking, any job with the word "vice" in it isn't going to be where someone wants to end up. Unless it's for the Vice network or Miami Vice, we guess. Anyone getting into this job wants the big job, to move up to school principal. This is more of a rung on a ladder, but lucky you, it's a rung that will be there for a long time.
