Character Analysis
Another of Franklin's friends and sometimes business partners, Meredith meets him when they're both working for Keimer. Meredith's a paradox, an Oxford-educated guy who's ended up as an indentured servant. As Franklin tells us, that's pretty unusual and actually doesn't say much for the kind of guy Meredith is. Meredith comes from a wealthy family, but he's not that good at managing money himself. When he and Franklin are both out of Keimer's house, they set up as partners based on Franklin's skill set and Meredith's father's money. The problem is, Meredith's father doesn't have as much as he said he would, and Meredith ends up pulling out of the partnership.
