Exactly how steamy is this story?

Two words. Sketchy hitchhiking. This book is almost totally squeaky clean except for that time that Griffin is forced to hitchhike on the highway. Almost every single one of those guys talks to him about sex, rape, or pedophilia. It just doesn't end.
But you could just gloss over that section and it would be basically like no one ever did anything remotely steamy ever. So, yeah, a PG rating for concentrated ickiness of Griffin's hitchhiking experience.
