We can't really say that reading a book that's on the ALA's top 100 banned books list is a burden, can we? After all, especially when dealing with teenagers, it generally piques people's interest. To be fair, though, we should address the charges that have been laid at Paterson's door.

Some of the strongest parental complaints about the book are that it "might give students negative views of life," it shows "disrespect of adults", and it "promote[s] an elaborate fantasy world that might lead to confusion." Since you are an educator, it's pretty clear to us that you are an optimistic person. So let's take these disparaging comments and turn them into props for the book.
