Flora

Even though you could make a case for Ulysses as the protagonist, our money's on Flora. Sure they share the title of the book, and they both tell us their thoughts and feelings throughout, but if you look back through the novel, you'll see that Flora dominates most of it.

Even though our favorite superhero squirrel is tough as nails and fights long and hard, it's Flora's life that we're really invested in. Her drama with her family and the tension between her parents don't really have anything to do with the superhero story, yet we learn about them since Flora is our main gal. Add that to the fact that she's figuring out who she is and whom she should be friends with, and she is most definitely our protagonist.
