Medusa's Clique: Equestrian Club (a.k.a. Parents of Horses)
Horseback riding anyone? Medusa's certainly game. When Perseus chopped off her head, Medusa was pregnant with Poseidon's baby. The baby Pegasus sprang out of Medusa's body. Pegasus was a magnificent horse with wings who eventually headed up to the heavens where he became a constellation. Sometimes, during lunch, Medusa and her fellow Equestrian Club members will take a trot around the lunch yard.
Poseidon
Poseidon, god of the sea, also happens to be the god of horses. In fact, he invented them. From ocean waves. He fathered two horse-children – Pegasus (with Medusa) and Arion (with Demeter). Everyone is super grateful to the sea god for this miraculous invention. Without horses, building things and getting places would have been much harder.
Loki
Loki is the Norse Trickster god. When a stone-mason promised to build a wall around Asgard to keep giants out, he asked for Freyja, the sun, and the moon. The Norse gods agreed to these terms as long as the stone-mason could finish the wall in one season. The stone-mason said this would be possible as long as he could use his stallion to finish the project. Loki advised the gods to let the stone-mason use his horse. When it looked like the stone-mason was going to complete the wall in time, the Norse god were furious. They did not want to lose Freyja, the sun, and the moon. They told Loki to fix it. Loki shape-shifted into a mare and seduced the stone-mason's stallion, leading him away from his master. The stone-mason was not able to finish the wall in time without the help of his horse. Loki gave birth to an eight-legged horse called Sleipnir.
