The Harry Potter movies are straight out of the world of fantasy. Your first clue is that Harry's a wizard that attends a magical boarding school where kids turn animals into water goblets, fly on broomsticks, and might accidentally run into a huge, carnivorous spiders in the forest if they aren't careful.

Yup: classic fantasy.

All right, so Chamber of Secrets is filled with magic and adventure in imaginative, other-worldly settings, but that doesn't mean it's super different from our own world.

Like other classic fantasy series (Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings just to name a few), Harry Potter is set in a magical world, but reflects truths about our real world, too. Harry has to deal with violence, prejudice, slavery, lies, arrogance, injustice, and the vapidness of celebrity culture.

It's tough to escape reality. Even in a world of fantasy.
