Horton Hatches the Egg Lines 116-150 Summary

He's Worth More Dead Than Alive

  • Next up, our tale takes an ugly turn. Like Horton's so-called friends, the hunters think Horton sitting on the egg is something to laugh about. And we're not talking chuckle-amongst-yourselves funny. They think Horton is positively circus worthy.
  • Gulp.
  • They build a wagon and put Horton, egg, and tree (now in a pot) inside.
  • These must be the strongest hunters ever. They push and pull the wagon through the jungle, over and down a ten-thousand-foot-high mountain.
  • When they get to the ocean, they plop Horton—tree, egg and all—into a boat and take him on a two-week journey to New York.
