- Back in bio class, Nora is thinking of ways to convince Coach to switch her partner. She takes iron pills for her anemia, which gets worse under stress.
- Coach catches Nora off guard by asking her about the qualities that she looks for in a desired mate. Patch jumps in with his answer to the awkward question—and describes someone shockingly like Nora.
- Nora asks Coach again to change her seat. Not only is she shot down, Coach even suggests that Nora tutor Patch.
- Nora and Vee go to see a horror movie (The Sacrifice) to review for their school's eZine, which they both write for.
- At the library, they run into mean-girl Marcie Millar and see Patch. Vee proposes Patch is following Nora and thinks they should sneak into the front office to look at his student file.
- Nora drives herself home in Vee's purple Dodge Neon.
- While driving, she hits a figure dressed in all black and wearing a ski mask. The figure, unfazed, attacks the car.
