Character Analysis
As with Moll's mother, we don't know much about her son out in Virginia. We do know that, despite the fact his mother abandoned him, he seems ready and willing to take her back into his life toward the end of the novel. He's one of the few nice guys that enters Moll's life, and it's his kind generosity in making sure Moll inherits her mother's wealth that helps Moll and Lancashire make a life for themselves.
