- Before leaving, he also goes to finish off any of the guys he maimed but didn't kill; one guy is still babbling even though his brain was blasted open.
- Turns out he had an antenna wired to his skull, and that's why he's still talking. Rife has figured out how to make electrical contact with the parts of the brain that control language.
- The boy steers them through various neighborhoods until they get to his home, where a hundred Filipinos give the boy a warm welcome and invite Hiro in, too.
