It's not like you're going to get a diamond named after you, like Liz and Dick. That's reserved for cultural icons.
You won't even get a cool pink gemstone like Morganite named after you. That honor usually goes to the geologist that discovered it.
Sorry to say, but this isn't a profession that makes people famous. The closest you'll get is being associated with someone famous if you end up being a jeweler to the stars. After all, someone needs to keep hip hoppers all blinged up.
