Apocalyptic, in the sense that complete and utter destruction of this position is likely to happen within twenty years. 

Unless you're obsessed with the idea of a research project that requires survey-sampling the millions of drivers who pay tolls during their travels, you should really look elsewhere for long-term opportunities.
