There are some majors that can boast about an extremely high satisfaction percentage (nursing) and some that can brag about their enormous salaries. Geology isn't necessarily either of those, but it's defo not on the opposite end of the spectrum. The 57% satisfaction isn't half-bad. It's actually 7% away from half-bad. Hehe…

So on top of having a solid satisfaction rate, the salary is on par with most majors.

One of the most interesting numbers here is the 75th percentile for salary: $90,000 per year. That can buy a lot of Star Wars action figures. Those in the petroleum side of geology can make well into six figures a year.

That's right, six figures for your figures. That means you could be making double the average household income while being right at the median for job satisfaction.
